About the Artwork
This work is part of Enomoto Aemi’s ongoing contemporary abstract painting practice, centered on constraint, chance, and material interaction. Each painting is created using a single, non conventional tool, which may range from a found branch or leaf to an everyday object such as a golf ball or other scavenged material. The tool is accepted as it is, without modification, and used to shape the physical and visual outcome of the work.
The marks and forms within the painting are governed by the limitations of the chosen object. Weight, surface, resistance, and unpredictability determine how paint is applied, allowing chance to operate within a controlled framework. The process resists refinement and favors consequence over intention.
