Clock with a unique time experience! A rare desk clock from 1989 designed by Douglas Chalk for Clever Clocks. It has a square plastic casing, mesmerizing black and white psychedelic spirals and a red ring for each hand of the clock. This version is almost impossible to find. The idea of the CleverClocks originated in 1984. Designer Douglas Chalk from London was fascinated by the concept of time and had extensively researched how to experience and represent time in a different way. Based on this research, he had made a number of prototypes and wanted to sell them at an art fair. The clocks turned out to be such a great success that they were all sold in no time. One of the customers told Chalk that he thought his designs were "Clever" and so the name CleverClocks was born. Douglas Chalk started production of the bells under this name. Each clock is made and assembled by hand. Five years later the company moved to America and the clocks are manufactured in California. Still manual. In very good vintage condition. With light signs of use
