Le Castel mantel clock Neuchâteloise - Wermeille & co SA - 2024 St.-Aubin - Switzerland
Hand-decorated artisanal clock.
The Le Castel clock collection combines the intact tradition of watchmaking with the expertise of artisanal craftsmanship from the Swiss Jura Mountains.
The furniture is made entirely of natural linden or pearwood. The legs and moldings are hand-carved.
The solid bronze ornaments, hand-chiseled, and the marquetry designs were specially created for the Le Castel collection.
The hammered gold leaf decoration is polished with agate by the finest gilders using a technique perfected over three centuries. Certain decorations are exclusive to Le Castel models.
The natural floral motifs, in monochrome colors, and the unique subjects are entirely hand-painted (not traced) in oil paint. Although monochrome decoration is prescribed for some models, particularly the famous Jeanjaquet clock, the artist often paints according to his own insight and feeling.
The eight-day striking mechanisms are extremely precise clockwork mechanisms. They are assembled and tested by Le Castel and are numbered and registered.
This clock is numbered 5495 - J. Guidoux
