A very rare piece, exhibited at the Musée national des beaux-arts de Québec, among other places. (Photos).
Black enameled metal structure with a curved, domed glass.
In perfect working order.

Albert Leclerc:
Albert Leclerc is a prominent figure in the history of industrial design, both in Quebec, where he was born, and in Italy, where he lived for much of his life.
His ingenuity and unique aesthetic made him a true pioneer of design. His prolific and unclassifiable work spans from product design to architecture. A brilliant strategist, visionary, and unifier, Albert Leclerc also contributed to the development of the School of Industrial Design at the University of Montreal, which he directed from 1992 to 2004.
Among his many achievements are the Free furniture systems for Tecno, wall clocks for Ballardini, the Le Palle collection of ceramic objects, and social housing in Turin. He was also one of Olivetti's principal designers, collaborating with Ettore Sottsass on the design of the System 45 office furniture and the iconic Valentine portable typewriter.
A lavishly illustrated reference work, *The Modular World of Albert Leclerc* traces the designer's career, his education, his professional experiences, and presents the vast majority of his work. Albert Leclerc was a key figure in the development of modular thinking, an approach that enables the flexible, efficient, and adaptable design and production of the material and social environment.
More broadly, this book demonstrates that the history of design is not solely the history of production and industrial forms, but also the history of the social fabric that gave rise to them.
