Impressive Directoire-Empire silver cabaret with two flasks and twelve cups.
Decorated with Minerva snake, frieze and water leaves, on stylized feet.
Each cup is adorned on the front with a finely engraved monogram composed of the letters "M" and "R" interlaced, a rare, finely chased element that suggests a private commission from a large Parisian family.

Very good condition. Old restorations (one foot replaced in bronze), tiny decorative lack on a central lower ornament. The vermeil on the goblets has not survived, although traces are visible depending on the light. All elements are well matched and appear to be of the same provenance.
It should be noted that the tray and carafe-holder elements were originally joined together.
