The set of glasses was produced in the 1970s and designed by Tapio Wirkkala for the Finnish manufacturer Iittala.
A collector’s set of glasses from the legendary Niva series, designed by Tapio Wirkkala for the Finnish brand Iittala in the 1970s. It is an example of top-tier Scandinavian functional design—minimalist in form yet meticulously refined in detail. The glasses are distinguished by a characteristic, sculptural texture of the glass reminiscent of an ice sheet or the movement of water—a motif that is the hallmark of the Niva series and, at the same time, a nod to nature, so strongly present in Wirkkala’s designs. As a result, the set plays beautifully with light and looks exceptionally elegant both at the bar and on the table. It is the perfect set for whiskey and other beverages—its excellent proportions and solid form make it not only a functional object but also a distinct collector’s item.
