Set of 7 pieces by Karoly Balogh, a Hungarian-born ceramicist working in Dreux. His work is renowned for the purity of its forms and the quality of its high-temperature glazes.
Aesthetics: Mottled brown glaze with gray-khaki undertones. A mineral and understated color, currently very popular (Country Chic, Japandi, and Natural Decor styles).
The signature "K-Balogh Dreux" and the date (1985) are incised on the underside of the pitcher. The monogram "KB" is also incised on the underside of each cup.
Dimensions:
Pitcher: Height 21 cm, base diameter 12 cm, neck diameter 10 cm, total width including handle 15 cm
Cups: Height 9 cm, diameter 7 cm.
Condition: The cups are in impeccable condition. Note a small chip (restored glaze chips included in the price) on the back rim of the pitcher (see photo), with no cracks. A healthy and robust whole.
