Pendant lamp designed by Felipe Derflingher (sometimes documented as Delfinger) for his Mexican workshop, Feders. This piece is a clear example of mid-century Mexican modernism, where glass craftsmanship meets a brutalist aesthetic. The lamp is composed of a dark metal structure, likely forged iron, which supports an assemblage of numerous hand-blown glass components. Unlike Derflingher's well-known 'imprisoned glass' technique, this design uses thick 'baguettes' or rectangular glass tiles. Each individual piece is suspended from the frame through a top hole, creating a three-tiered composition in a conical cascade shape. The color palette is distinctive to Feders, combining vibrant tones of cobalt blue, amber, and ruby red with dark smoked glass. The internal lighting projects light through these textured glasses, creating a dramatic and warm effect. The metal frame retains an original rustic patina, consistent with the style and era, circa 1960-1970.
