Set of 6 Vintage Soup Plates by Boch Frères La Louvière, ca. 1940
Late Art Deco meets Mid-Century simplicity
This elegant set of six soup plates was produced by Boch Frères La Louvière in Belgium around the 1940s. Crafted from fine faience, these pieces beautifully reflect the transition from late Art Deco to the more restrained aesthetics of early Mid-Century design.
The design features a soft ivory-cream base adorned with delicate cobalt blue floral motifs, evenly spaced along the rim and echoed in the center. The gently scalloped edge with subtle relief detailing adds refinement, while the minimalist decoration keeps the overall look timeless and versatile.
Each plate measures approximately 23 cm in diameter and around 4 cm in height, making them ideal for serving soups, pasta, or salads.
All plates are stamped on the underside with the original Boch Frères La Louvière factory mark, confirming authenticity and Belgian origin.
Minor variations in size and glaze, as well as small imperfections, are typical for ceramic pieces of this period and reflect their production techniques.
Boch Frères, founded in 1841, is one of Belgium’s most renowned ceramic manufacturers, celebrated for its blend of craftsmanship and artistic innovation. Their tableware remains highly appreciated for its balance of functionality and enduring design.
With their understated elegance and classic blue-and-white palette, these plates suit both traditional table settings and modern interiors.
Will be carefully packed and well protected.
