Resin cast of the face of a Greek ephebe, dated between 447 and 432 BC.
The original marble head is held at the Louvre Museum in Paris. This reproduction of the Greek head was made by the museum's workshops in the 20th century. The original work, known as the La Coulonche Head (5th century BC), was discovered on the Acropolis of Athens. It is a fragment of a frieze from the Parthenon.
This model has become rare and is no longer produced or listed in the catalogue of the National Museums' Art Workshop. A wax seal affixed to the back of the cast attests to its official provenance from the Louvre Museum.
Presented on its original brown plexiglass base.
