A Vitra ID office chair, Trim model, in excellent condition. Grey mesh fabric on a black base with adjustable armrests.
Vitra developed the ID Chair Concept together with Antonio Citterio and released it in 2010. The idea is modular: one base chair, configurable with various backrests, armrests, seats, and bases into thousands of variants that still look like the same chair. The Trim is the version where the backrest combines the comfort of an upholstered cushion with the visual lightness of a mesh — hence that sleek, taut appearance.
The FlowMotion mechanism is located under the seat. This means that the chair moves with you when you lean back, with a resistance that you adjust to your own weight via the rotary knob on the side. This is contract quality: this type of chair is purchased by companies that have people sitting on it for eight hours a day, and is built for that purpose.
This one has hardly been used. The fabric is intact, the mechanism works, and the base is free of damage.
For working from home, this is exactly the type of chair you buy once. A new ID Trim like this costs between €1,400, depending on the version.
