Product description
Rare Uchiwa III wall light designed by Ingo Maurer for his Munich-based lighting company, M-Design, during the 1970s. Inspired by traditional Japanese uchiwa fans, the lamp is handcrafted from bamboo and laminated paper using traditional Japanese techniques, resulting in a light, sculptural and highly atmospheric design.
Due to the delicate nature of its materials, original examples have become increasingly difficult to find, making this an especially desirable piece for collectors of vintage lighting and iconic design.
The wall light is fitted with an E27 socket and is presented in neat vintage condition with age-related signs of use consistent with its age (please refer to the photographs).
