A wonderful oil on canvas work depicting a group of dark-skinned women carrying baskets of fruit. What is striking is that the landscape itself has been composed with the same fruit. It is a creative painting, full of vitality despite its tendency toward monochrome. Furthermore, the technique is exquisite, naive in style, emphasizing simple forms created with fine black lines and tanned beige shading. The signature of the artist, Jose Diereseu, a contemporary artist from the Dominican Republic, appears in the lower right corner. Currently, Central Caribbean naive art is highly valued. It is worth highlighting leading artists such as the Cuban Alexis Leiva and the renowned Dominican Cándido Bidó.
