A pair of original "star" wall lamps from Herda Verlichting in Amsterdam, in very good condition with the original light switch, plug, and socket, including three extra stars!
The lamps have been part of our private collection since their purchase in 1970. These space-age lamps were very popular in the 1970s because the front—with the stars—is movable, allowing the light to be adjusted to the desired brightness.
Both lamps are in very good condition with minor signs of wear.
Herda Verlichting BV (1946-1997) was located in Amsterdam. Founded by Henk and Rob Daniels. The name Herda is an abbreviation of the surnames Herwaarden and Daniels. Mr. Herwaarden arranged the permit when the company was founded (which was no easy task right after the war). In the 1960s, Herda was the largest lamp manufacturer in the Netherlands.
