This beautiful classic, called the Diabolo, was made by the Herda company in the Netherlands.
This vintage wall lamp consists of a hemisphere and a conical cylinder. Both are made of brushed aluminum and painted white on the inside. The sphere and cylinder are connected by a bronze-colored ring attached to a bronze-colored wall plate.
The hemisphere points upward, and the conical cylinder points downward. Both parts have an E14 socket and can be operated independently with a push button located on the wall plate.
It comes with a 3-meter-long, new white cord with a European two-pin plug. This MCM lamp can be operated with a push button on the wall plate.
Explanation of the name diabolo:
Originally, a diabolo was an object used for juggling (as early as ancient China). It consists of two identical bowls connected at the bottom. This connecting piece, which forms the diabolo's fulcrum, allows it to be operated using a cord and two sticks.
Dimensions:
Wall lamp height: 23.5 cm.
Wall lamp diameter (hemisphere): 16.5 cm.
Diameter (conical cylinder): 7 cm.
Wall lamp depth: 21 cm.
This Space Age lamp has some minor damage in the form of scratches, and a small amount of paint has peeled off the inside of both shades (see photos 10 and 11). Otherwise, the lamp is in good vintage condition!
