Dom Hans van der Laan coffee table, Netherlands, 1960s. Executed by Jan de Jong. During the post-World War II reconstruction period, Dutch architect Jan de Jong and Dom Hans van der Laan collaborated on several architectural projects, including interior furniture. They created a remarkable body of work that defines the style of the Bossche School. Jan de Jong was able to translate many of Dom v.d.Laan's idealized concepts and ideas into pioneering buildings and spaces. However, they worked so closely together that it is difficult to discern their individual level of contribution to the furniture they designed. Artist Wim van Hoof worked with both architects, suggesting different color schemes for their projects.
