This set of two cabinets was designed by Cees Braakman for the Dutch manufacturer Pastoe. The furniture represents the characteristic Mid-Century Modern aesthetic, where functionality and sleek design take center stage.
The set consists of a closed base cabinet with two doors and internal drawers, and an open top cabinet with a shelf. Both elements are crafted from wood and rest on the iconic, curved metal U-legs typical of Braakman's designs from this period. The cabinets are finished in a green color scheme. The inside of the drawers features a green, padded lining.
The cabinets are in a condition consistent with age and use, preserving their original character and patina. The construction is solid and the furniture is fully functional.
These Pastoe cabinets come into their own in a vintage or eclectic interior. They offer practical storage space while simultaneously serving as a striking design statement in a living room, study, or hallway.
