This cantilever chair was designed by Marcel Breuer and is one of the most iconic tubular steel chairs of the Bauhaus. The clean lines, the chromed tubular steel, and the Viennese cane webbing combine to create a remarkably light and elegant effect.
Typical of this model is the cantilevered frame made of bent tubular steel, which gives the chair its distinctive flexibility. It flexes slightly when you sit on it, providing a comfortable seating experience. At the same time, the design appears minimalist and graphic, almost as if the chair is floating in the room.
The seat and backrest are covered with Viennese cane webbing, a new addition to this chair. The light-colored webbing provides a beautiful contrast to the dark frame and the chromed tubular steel, emphasizing the airy feel of the design. Due to its age, there are a few signs of wear on the lacquered wooden frame. The chromed frame is in very good condition.
A true Bauhaus classic, equally at home at the dining table, in a study, or as a striking accent chair. The combination of steel tubing, clean lines and the airy weave makes the S32 one of the most timeless designs of the 20th century to this day.
