Product description
Table lamp / ceiling lamp, Murano glass, Mazzega style, 1970s - Italy Material: Murano glass Style: Mid-century, following Mazzega Period: 1970s Country of origin: Italy Good condition considering its age and use Overall dimensions: 65 x 35 x 35 cm Base: 31 x 29 x 29 cm Shade: 35 x 35 x 35 cm Ceiling stem: 58 x 15 x 15 cm Elegant spherical Murano glass lamp, crafted in the style of the Mazzega company in the 1970s. It features a wave or petal pattern created with different shades of glass: yellow, amber, and milky. Originally, this lamp was intended to be a ceiling light, but the metal base or foot it currently has was added so that it could be used as a table lamp. It also retains the wiring and stem for installation as a ceiling light. It is a perfect lighting piece for those looking to add an original and distinctive touch to their home, paying homage to the appreciation of Italian craftsmanship and know-how. About Murano Glass Venetian glass is the result of a fascinating combination of artisanal tradition and sophisticated industrial techniques, uniting manual skill with technological innovation. This fusion, which has endured throughout the centuries, is at the heart of the rich tradition of Italian glass. The famous Murano glass was born out of a prohibition: although glass had been manufactured in Venice for centuries, in 1291, during the Venetian Republic, its production was banned in the city to prevent fires caused by the high temperatures of the furnaces and to keep the art of glassmaking a secret. All glassmakers were forced to relocate to Murano, and production was restricted to this location. Shipping costs will be paid by the buyer according to the dimensions, weight, and destination.
