For sale: A beautiful set of 2 original Artifort F300 shell chairs, designed by the French designer Pierre Paulin in 1965-1966 for Artifort (Netherlands).
The chairs are in good original condition. The shells are upholstered in the original stretch fabric in pink/fuchsia, with a beautiful, even color. The base consists of a molded synthetic/fiberglass shell, as originally produced by Artifort. The base shows light, non-disruptive signs of use.
The F300 is an iconic example of futuristic design from the 1960s and is part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. The museum describes the model as being made of fiberglass-reinforced polyester with a foam seat covered in stretch fabric. The design is considered an important classic by Pierre Paulin. (MoMA collection: Chair, model 300, 1965-66). This set is ideal for lovers of mid-century modern, vintage design, or Pierre Paulin collectibles.
