Discover a unique find with this beautiful vintage PZH bowl, featuring the "JOMA" design. This three-handled ceramic bowl is a true eye-catcher with its vibrant colors and detailed floral motifs.
The company was founded in Gouda in 1898 and received the "Royal" designation in 1930. The official name became "N.V. Koninklijke Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland," popularly known as "Plazuid" or "PZH." PZH was known for its innovations. In 1908, experiments with a matte glaze began. This new matte glaze was first exhibited in 1910 at the Leipziger Messe and again in 1915 at the World's Fair in San Francisco, USA. It proved to be a great success, and products with matte glaze were produced until the pottery closed in 1968. Offered here is a bowl with a matte glaze and vibrant blue accents, along with beautiful autumnal colors of yellow, red, green, brown, and ivory.
Made of high-quality ceramic in 1951, this bowl exudes authentic vintage charm.
The bottom features the PZH trademark, the Lazarus Gate, the model/mold number 3336 and the design number 3650, the design name "Joma," the mark of the year 1951, the as-yet-unidentified artist "TT," and the locations "Zuid-Holland" and "Gouda." The word "Royal" refers to the designation granted in 1930.
The rich color combination makes it a striking piece for any room and adds an artistic flair that is both classic and timeless.
There is a small chip on the back of the bowl, and a very small area of the glaze has chipped off on the rim. (See photos)
