Vintage leather Dimitri Omersa donkey – silently sculptural with a life in the leather
Dimensions 83 × 24 × 51 cm – a beautiful, room-present size.
This object pairs beautifully with dark woods, a room with Japanese influence or rich fabrics, mid-century furniture, ceramics, brass accents… in short: in any setting where texture and warmth are more important than perfection.
An animal that has lived – and that stands out so powerfully in an interior precisely because of it.
The patina is particularly beautiful: warm, weathered, with cracking, edge drying, wear, and a slight indentation in the body. Everything sturdy, everything honest. An object that tries to hide nothing.
1 hind leg is slightly damaged, 1 ear is pinned down, the tail is missing.
As with older Omersa examples, a label is missing, but all the maker's signatures are present in the proportions, the leather, and the construction. An archetype in leather: authentic, full of character, and with an iconic visual language.
