This vintage secretary desk is an authentic design by the renowned Dutch furniture manufacturer Pastoe. The piece combines the functionality of a storage cabinet with a hidden workspace, making it a characteristic example of post-war Dutch Design.
The cabinet is crafted from wood with a contrasting finish, where the warm, dark wood grain of the fronts stands out beautifully against the lighter sides and the interior. The upper compartment features a flap door that serves as a writing surface, behind which lies an organized interior with small drawers and compartments for office supplies. The lower section offers ample storage space with a shelf behind two hinged doors. The entire piece rests on slender, cylindrical metal legs that give the design a floating and spacious character. The original Pastoe emblem is present on the inside.
The furniture is in good, functional condition befitting its age and previous use. The wooden surfaces and the interior have developed an authentic patina over the years, contributing to the historical character of this vintage piece. The construction is solid and the hinges of the flap door function properly.
