Refined pair of small vintage French galvanized chests of drawers from the mid-20th century. Each piece features a delicate galbé or curved front, a characteristic that accentuates the influence of Louis XVI style furniture, reinterpreted here with a contemporary sensibility. Executed in ebonized wood, these chests display a patinated finish with subtle shades of dark turquoise, giving their surface a deep and unique chromatic richness. The sobriety of the ebonization is attenuated by these tones, which also lend a vintage air to the piece. The structure rests on four slender, curved cabriole legs. The tops, with sinuous lines and molding gently decorated with aged gilt, elegantly crown the set.
