Peter Bes (Den Helder, 1945) is a Dutch visual artist, active in various art disciplines. He has lived in Anna Paulowna for quite some time. He is a sculptor, graphic artist, painter, draftsman, penciller, pastellist, etcher, lithographer, wood engraver, monumental artist, mosaic maker. Education Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten (Amsterdam). Bes trained in the 1960s, first at the then Rijksnormaalschool and later at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. He exhibited regularly at home and abroad. He participated in graphics biennials and triennials in Switzerland (Grenchen, 1979 and 1982), Poland (Krakow, 1978), Bulgaria (Varna, 1985), Germany (Dortmund, 1993) and the United States (San Francisco, 1980). In 1980, he received the first prize for portrait graphics in Tuzla, in the former Yugoslavia. In 2012, some of his spatial works were shown at the Paper Biennial in Museum Rijswijk. Bes is a member of the KunstenaarsCentrumBergen.
