The Knoll Barcelona Daybed is an iconic design by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. In 1929, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was asked to design the German Pavilion for the World's Fair in Barcelona. He created a beautiful ensemble in which the Barcelona Chair and Footstool took center stage. Following the success of these pieces of furniture, a daybed was introduced in 1930 to complete the series. Just like the chair, the daybed is characterized by a high degree of detail. Each of the 72 compartments is hand-stitched and fitted with buttons, all made from a single piece of top-quality leather. The comfortable cushion is interwoven with leather straps to the polished chrome steel frame. The platform on which the cushion rests is made of ash wood and painted in a dark walnut color. The cushion also stays neatly in place thanks to the leather straps. So, get ready for some wonderful relaxation! The Barcelona Daybed is 196 centimeters wide, 44 centimeters high, and 89 centimeters deep. With the cushion, the height is 65 centimeters. They are completely original and still in mint condition (showroom models) with all certificates, booklets, etc. included!!
