Product description
Cache pot floral design, Limoges porcelain, 60's - France Material: Limoges porcelain Manufacture: CD Limoges, Porcelaines d'Art RB Limoges France Period: 1960s Country of origin: France Good condition according to its age and use Dimensions: 19 x 21 x 21 cm Delicate cache pot or flowerpot in Limoges porcelain with subtle and precious floral decorations in pink and green tones. The piece exhibits a beautiful floral design, of what appear to be bouquets of rosehips, on a white porcelain background. In some details, a background is hinted at through clouds and grass. The design adds points of light through the use of white outlines of some elements such as flowers or clouds. Its presence in any space not only beautifies the room, but also uplifts, creating a visual dialogue that invites contemplation and awakens appreciation for French craftsmanship. More about Limoges Porcelain… The history of the most famous French porcelain factory begins in 1768, when significant deposits of kaolin were discovered in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche, near Limoges. This delicate white clay proved decisive in the creation of a porcelain of such high quality that it came to be compared to china, considered at the time the finest in the world. Thus began the development of a new ceramics industry in Europe. King Louis XVI issued an edict granting the city of Limoges exclusive permission to produce porcelain for the Kingdom of France. Following the French Revolution, several private porcelain factories were established in the city, each identified by a different name or symbol. Today, each of their designs is unique and conceived by true artists. Limoges porcelain is produced in around twenty factories, all located in the Haute-Vienne department. Recognizing authentic Limoges porcelain is very simple: All objects from the French house bear the manufacturer's stamp. Usually stamped in black or blue, this mark can provide very precise clues for dating the piece. Much of Limoges porcelain was made in white and decorated later. Therefore, this stamp was often accompanied by the decorator's stamp. Shipping of the product will be paid by the buyer according to the dimensions, weight, and destination.
