Round Tulip Table by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International, designed in 1956. This iconic model is considered a milestone in modern furniture history and was designed as part of the Pedestal Collection, with which Saarinen sought to eliminate the clutter of conventional table and chair legs.
The table features an elegant, sculptural form with a central, trumpet-shaped base made of heavy, white-lacquered cast aluminum, supporting the round tabletop of light Carrara marble. The marble surface features a soft, linear grain in light gray tones, giving the table a natural, vibrant depth. The original Knoll International stamp is visible on the underside, confirming the authenticity and early production of the piece.
With its clean, organic silhouette, the table blends harmoniously into a wide variety of interiors – from classic modern to minimalist. The design combines technical sophistication with formal calm and is one of the most enduring design classics of the 20th century.
Condition: The table is in good original condition with a patina consistent with its age. The marble top has a few surface scratches and minor dull spots, and an unobtrusive repair in the stone is visible. The base shows slight signs of wear in the varnish.
