The "Chincheta" is an iconic coffee table designed by Spanish brothers Sergi and Oscar Devesa for Catalan brand Disform. The design dates back to 1987 and was inspired by the shape of a thumbtack - which also explains its Spanish name: "chincheta."
The table is made of a single piece of cast aluminum that has been cut, bent and given a slight texture. The three legs emerge elegantly from the top, giving it an almost sculptural look.
A rare and characteristic object for lovers of postmodern design.
The top and sides of this specimen have been repainted white by a previous owner, while the underside still shows the original gray epoxy coating with fine speckle texture. The texture is solid, but the white paintwork on the top shows paint damage here and there (see photos).
