Collection of Decorative Stained Glass Panels – Germany, ca. 1955–1975
Offered is a collection of six decorative stained glass panels, made in Germany during the second half of the 20th century, presumably between 1955 and 1975.
The panels depict regional, rural, and architectural motifs, executed in a serene, nostalgic style that was particularly popular in the post-war period for living rooms, wine bars, and formal interiors. The pieces combine colored textured glass with clearly defined lead cames and, in some cases, inscribed designs.
These panels feature colored textured glass, clearly defined lead cames, and sometimes include inscriptions. Motifs (selection):
• "The Winegrowers" – a colorful scene of the grape harvest, with captions
• "Hallgarten in the Rheingau" – a large-format view of the town
• Other town, village, and castle scenes with churches, half-timbered houses, and landscapes
• One glass panel signed "Castle"
Several glass panels still have their original hanging hardware (chains or wire) and were originally intended as hanging or window decorations.
