Elegant and original ceramic tray made at Poterie Galtié around the 1980s. Poterie Galtié is a company headquartered in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie. In the nearly 30 years since its founding, they have established themselves as a renowned company in the world of ceramics. Led by talented ceramist Patrick Galtié, who stands out for the originality of his designs and for a technique that blends respect for tradition with a very personal and contemporary approach. Each piece is handmade, hand-molded, giving them a unique personality. Galtié does not seek industrial perfection, but rather the character and personality of each object. He often plays with freeform molding to explore irregular shapes and organic textures. He prepares the glazes himself; they are natural glazes, as are the pigments and oxides to achieve the different colors (metallic oxides for earthy tones, etc.). Overall, her work displays a certain Mediterranean influence, reminiscent of traditional Southern European forms but with a contemporary twist. This tray, in particular, is enlivened by bands of grayish tones with floral motifs and delicate, stylized curved lines evoking plant motifs. The pink hue of the flowers adds a touch of color.
