Ripe quality is made of 100% mohair from Angora goats, closely monitored by farmers to ensure their happiness and well-being.
A Ripe rug feels soft and pleasant to the touch and retains its unique fine and silky sheen for years. It is a characteristic of a mature cut pile rug that it is subject to a subtle trace mark; this occurs due to changes in light reflection and naturally reverses during use. Ripe offers a range of tufting types: low cut, loop and high cut pile. This can be tufted in a mix of different colors, or in a blend with linen or eucalyptus yarns.
Mohair can be twisted and bent without damaging the fiber; it is the most durable animal fiber. Mohair is stronger than steel of the same diameter. The smooth fibers of mohair do not irritate the skin, even for people who are sensitive to most types of wool. The fibers of mohair do not conduct heat; they provide good insulation.
