The most obvious and well-known material is wool. Longbarn has used this in its Harvest and Bloom collections. But Longbarn wouldn't be Longbarn if they hadn't done something special with it. Both of these qualities are made from felted wool yarns that become unique due to their special and specific dyeing method. The felted wool is dyed using space dyeing. Space dyeing is a technique used to give yarn a unique, multi-coloured effect. While normally a skein of yarn is dyed in the same colour, with space dyeing a skein is dyed in two or more different colours that repeat continuously along the length of the yarn. Space-dyeing yarns and coordinating colors, such as various neutral shades or diverse shades of blue, creates a subtle yet sophisticated look. Space-dyed yarns in contrasting colors, such as purple, fuchsia, aubergine, gray, and soft pink, produce a unique and beautiful effect. This special dyeing method gives every rug its own unique appearance. And thanks to the vast array of colors, it is easily adaptable to many interiors.
