The Cassina Maralunga armchair is a masterful design by Vico Magistretti. Reportedly, one day Vico Magistretti was playing with a cigarette pack, contemplating what new sofa he would design. The opening and closing of the pack gave him a unique idea: an adjustable backrest. Independently, each backrest, just like the cigarette pack, can be 'folded' to a 90-degree angle. It became an exceptionally great success, and the armchair is still considered one of the most famous Italian design sofas. Quality, design, and comfort come together in Cassina's design, which holds a patent for the innovative mechanism for the backrests.
