DESCRIPTION:
The tabletop of a Tranekaer table is composed of 1,764 individual, vertically oriented, solid wood pieces, using numerous different types of precious wood. Each piece has its own unique design and character. The elaborate surface treatment, carried out according to precisely defined specifications, gives the surface a uniquely beautiful, matte silk sheen. A special oil treatment provides the tabletop with excellent resistance to daily wear and tear.
The choice of wood for the legs and aprons is precisely coordinated with the color scheme of the tabletop. Each piece of furniture features a brass plaque bearing the series and serial number, as well as the name of the architect and designer responsible for the artistic design.
Anyone with even a basic understanding of carpentry or woodworking can appreciate the time-consuming and meticulous craftsmanship required to create a table of this quality! This applies not only to the tabletop but also, for example, to the connection between the legs and the aprons. A special brass screw was designed for this purpose, its cube-shaped head serving as a design element, visibly fitted by hand into the leg.

Gorm Lindum Christensen, originally a cabinetmaker, is an architect specializing in furniture design and related research, as well as contributing to "Industriel Dansk Design" (Industrial Danish Design); his work has also been featured in exhibitions for the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mosaic:
Rolf Middelboe was a trained graphic artist and fabric printer at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and chairman of the Industrial Danish Designers Association (I.D.D.). His pieces are included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among others.

Combination of American and African hardwoods such as Afrormosia, Tiama, Sucupira, Bibolo, and Kosipo.

Reddish-brown tones ranging from light to dark brown
Note:
The photos are overexposed to ensure the pristine condition is visible in detail. This makes reddish tones appear more reddish and colors generally lighter. The shadowed areas, or those not directly illuminated by the camera light, best represent the true colors. Any glare or grayish or milky areas in the photos are due to lighting and/or illumination (reflections). The surfaces have a satin to semi-gloss finish.
