Beautiful large glazed stoneware demijohn, a piece made in the workshops of Puisaye or more broadly in central France, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. It has an elegant ovoid shape topped with a long, narrow neck. The stoneware is covered with a light, partially ash glaze in shades of beige, red earth, brown, and khaki, enlivened by natural speckling and firing effects.
Height 32.5 cm, maximum diameter approximately 17 cm. In very good overall condition for its age. There are some signs of use and discreet old marks. Several small, old chips are present around the lower rim, as well as a larger chip under the base, which is invisible when the piece is standing. Approximately 2.2-2.5 kg.
