Rich French gilt bronze jardinière with putti – Louis XV style
Beautiful decorative object in gilt bronze, executed in a rich rococo style and probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.
The jardinière is richly decorated with undulating lines, shell motifs, and floral ornaments. Two reclining putti (children's figures) are beautifully crafted and symmetrically arranged on the rim. The object features elegant handles on both sides.
The interior contains a removable metal insert, which has clearly been used and shows distinct signs of age and corrosion. This was originally intended to hold plants or flowers without damaging the bronze casing.
This type of object was traditionally used as a jardinière, centerpiece, or cachepot and is clearly inspired by the French Louis XV period. An elegant and distinctive decorative piece that will look great in a classic or eclectic interior. Condition:
The bronze casing is in good condition with normal signs of age. The gilding is largely intact. The inner container is heavily weathered and rusty. No visible cracks or loose parts.
