This triptych is a photo series from 1998. It is a registration of a boxing match in the Sodom & Gomorrah slum in Accra, Ghana. young men dream of international boxing success. For them this is often the only way out of the raw reality of life in the slum. The photographer, Mark Schoonheim, lived and worked for quite some time in various African countries. His fascination with the seamy side of existence and the contrast with Western wealth are permanent themes in his work. The three framed photos form a whole and tell a story. The photos were taken with a Bronica medium format camera (6x6). The dimensions of the photos are 19cmx19cm and all three are individually framed in an aluminum frame with a black pass-partout of 41cmx31cm. Signed by the photographer at the bottom right of the photos on the passport.
