These Panton Chairs come from the two series production of 1968-1971. This second series (only 150 were produced in the first series), made of rigid polyurethane foam. Mass production began in 1968 with an innovative molding technique. This produced larger quantities, but still required time-consuming manual finishing. In the past, these were delivered with a sticker instead of a print. They have been verified by Vitra itself.
Unique is that I have 4 in excellent condition.
Without a doubt, the Panton Chair is the most famous and perhaps most important design by Verner Panton. Its shape, which is as unusual as it is striking, and the innovations in production technology associated with this piece of furniture have made it an icon of chair design in the twentieth century.
