A beautiful set of authentic early edition Marcel Breuer B3 Wassily chairs. The leather is lovely matured and eventually over decades patinated in this unique beautiful mix of brown/black colors. These chairs are marked with Bononia, this was part of the Gavina Group, Licensed to manufacture the chair before Knoll. Made between 1960 and 1968. The chair was revolutionary in the mid-1920s when it was designed. It is known as the first chair with a bent tubular metal frame. Bononia from Bologna produced the chair in the 1960s. Knoll bought the Gavina Bologna group in the late 1960s. Background GAVINA: In 1962, Dino Gavina, an Italian entrepreneur in the design sector, met Marcel Breuer in New York and convinced him to rework and redo his 1920s projects. After the sale of the Gavina to the American Knoll in 1968 and the closure of the Bolognese brand, several products from the Gavina collection were sold under the Knoll brand; Great opportunity for you to acquire a vintage early edition and matching iconic set with these unique colors.
