Very rare vintage space age Rotaflex table lamp.
This beautiful lamp reminiscent of a rocket is a so-called Rotaflex lamp. Rotaflex is a production method patented in Denmark in 1946. This method of spinning lampshades with hollow tube threads of cellulose acetate has been used by several companies in Europe and the United States.
Where this particular lamp was made, we have not been able to find out, but we date it in the 1950s or 1960s.
The fixture of this particular table lamp consists of a metal, black lacquered frame, in which an E14 socket is placed. On this frame rests a cream-colored lampshade, which in turn supports a second light green lampshade.
This particular table lamp features a new white cord with switch and a European 2-pin plug.
Dimensions:
Height: approximately 43 cm.
Diameter: approximately 17 cm.
The lamp has some damages on the upper edge of the green shade and on the inside of the lower edge of the cream shade (see photo 6). These damages do not detract from this fantastic lamp as far as we are concerned.
