For the true connoisseur of rare Italian design. A beautiful Fontana Arte "Vega" (model 2750) table lamp, designed in 1986 by the iconic architect and designer Michele De Lucchi. De Lucchi gained worldwide fame as a prominent core member and co-founder of the radical Memphis Group (Memphis Milano). This rare lamp is a perfect example of his transition to high-end, postmodern luxury lighting and combines a playful geometric silhouette with high-end materials.
The lamp is a masterpiece of minimalist aesthetics and high-quality glass craftsmanship. The eye-catcher is the heavy, organically shaped base of deep dark blue crystal glass, combined with a slender metal arm and a refined, rotatable shade of matte satin white glass. The arm and shade are smoothly adjustable (360 degrees), allowing you to perfectly direct the light.
The lamp is in used vintage condition with signs of age. Unfortunately, the blue crystal glass base is missing a chip (see detail photo). This is located on the cord side, at the back. Additionally, there are some minimal, light superficial scratches on the surface. Due to the deep blue color and the reflection, these are hardly noticeable in daily use. The white glass shade is completely intact and free of damage. The metal arm adjusts smoothly.
