Product description
Hand-forged wrought iron candlestick executed in the style of master blacksmith Samuel Yellin. The structural design originates from a singular iron bar manipulated using traditional blacksmithing techniques. The base terminates in a detailed, hand-carved dragon head with open jaws and pronounced stylized features, displaying precise chisel work and iron manipulation. From this zoomorphic terminal, the iron shaft coils flatly to establish a stable, low-profile footprint before ascending vertically. The central stem transitions into an open-work twisted cage geometry, creating a linear optical effect when viewed from varying angles. Above this section, the solid stem extends to support a flared, hand-hammered bobeche with delicate foliate edges designed to capture wax, terminating in an integrated cylindrical candle socket. The entire iron surface exhibits a dark, authentic oxidized patina with texturing and hammer marks inherent to hand-wrought metalwork.
