THE SCULPTURE IS RESERVED FOR THE TIME BEING;
Hardwood sculpture, namely the beautiful Iroko wood from the DRC (Congo).
Natural wax (polished - 3 times).
Great patina and shape.
Sculpture made in 2009 and only now fully finished.
Height: 100 cm - width: 45 cm - depth: 40 cm

I consider myself a self-taught artist.
Notwithstanding (and with the utmost respect) that my uncle instilled in me, during my youth ('70s),
the passion for wood carving in part.
At the end of the last century, the unique diptych of years of collaboration followed
between the Congolese artist Mbungu (DRC) and myself as a non-professional
sculptor.
The unfinished, rugged, rough wooden forms were further finished here by me after drying for a minimum of 10 years.
All sculptures are hand-chiseled and sanded. Not easy, because they are all made of hardwood, namely Wenge or Iroko.
Two very hard, rock-hard tropical hardwoods.
After hours, days, weeks, and sometimes months of work, the satisfaction follows: a magnificent, unparalleled patina.
