This exceptional ceramic piece from Bodo Mans' renowned Delhi series showcases the characteristic design language of West German studio ceramics from the 1960s. Produced by Bay Keramik in West Germany, the object combines sculptural lightness with a graphic surface design. The organically curved, almost boat-like silhouette lends the vase a distinctive, almost playful presence. The slightly raised rim and small, integrated feet emphasize its three-dimensional character and clearly distinguish it from classic vase forms. The colorful decoration is particularly striking: horizontal bands in green, yellow, blue, and red are accompanied by a typical, net-like dot pattern characteristic of many of Bodo Mans' designs. This surface is reminiscent of early Fat Lava interpretations, but with a finer, more graphic execution. The light base glaze provides a calm contrast to the vibrant color segments and lends the object a certain lightness despite its expressive design. The unusual shape creates a decorative ceramic object that functions both as a vase and as a sculpture.
Condition: Good vintage condition with slight signs of age, minimal wear on the edges, and minor irregularities in the glaze; overall, beautifully preserved.
