Beautiful original W.E. Mover London Atomic pendant lamp, designed by Anthony Staples & Angus Wallace for Prime Mover London, circa 1968. This iconic Space Age design is a fine example of progressive British design from the sixties.
The lamp is made of chrome-plated metal and consists of two rotating rings surrounding the central light source. Thanks to this construction, the lamp can be positioned in various ways, creating a different sculptural shape each time. This playful, geometric design is characteristic of the futuristic design of the Space Age period.
The lamp is marked on the top with:
WE MOVER LONDON
PAT APP'D FOR
MADE IN ENGLAND
This marking confirms that it is an original piece from England.
The lamp is in good vintage condition with light signs of use consistent with its age. The chrome has retained a beautiful shine and the rotating rings function as intended. The lamp is equipped with an original porcelain E27 socket, allowing modern LED and filament bulbs to be used without any problems.
