The iconic Wassily armchair, also known as the B3 Chair, was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925 and is considered a milestone in Bauhaus design. Inspired by bicycle handlebars and with an innovative use of bent tubular steel, Breuer developed this chair at the age of just 25 during his time as a master craftsman at the Bauhaus in Weimar. The chair is made of high-quality chrome-plated tubular steel and is covered in hard-wearing leather, which is used for the seat as well as the backrest and armrests. The backrest bears the embossed lettering of Marcel Breuer, which underlines the authenticity and historical significance of the piece. The Wassily Chair is a prime example of the clear and functional design of the Bauhaus movement and has collector's value worldwide.
