This set of four dining chairs was designed by Walter Antonis for the Dutch manufacturer Metaform. The design is characterized by a minimalist aesthetic, where the clean lines of the tubular frame form a strong contrast with the natural texture of the seat and backrest.
The chairs are crafted with a frame of chromed and black-coated metal, resulting in a sturdy and visually lightweight construction. The seat and backrest are upholstered in thick, black saddle leather, finished with striking stitching. The leather bears the brand name Metaform on the underside, confirming the authenticity of the set.
The set is in good condition, commensurate with age and use. Over the years, the leather has developed a characteristic patina, which contributes to the chairs' authentic appearance.
On three of the four chairs, there is wear along a seam on the underside of the seat (see detail photos). This wear is located entirely on the underside and is not visible during normal use. The chairs are otherwise stable and ready for immediate use. These chairs fit perfectly into a modern, industrial, or minimalist interior. They come into their own particularly well around a sleek dining table, where the contrast between the metal and the leather adds a refined dynamic to the space.
