The aluminum shelves hang from stainless steel cables that are anchored in a concrete wall or a solid stone wall. The distance between the shelves is freely selectable. (on the photo it is 40 cm)
Nexus was awarded in 1996 as "Best Dutch furniture design" and in 1997 rewarded with the "Aluminium Award and Design Prize". “The system won the award for its inconspicuousness, minimalism, sophistication and timelessness. The designer has found a subtle balance between material and technique”, according to the jury. The system consists of anodized aluminum shelves, which are supported by height-adjustable brackets. These brackets are attached to stainless steel cables. The cables are anchored in the wall with a special bolt, so that the entire cabinet is suspended from only a few points.
