The Vitra Coconut Chair was designed by George Nelson. Its iconic shape is a striking addition that beautifully complements a variety of spaces. From living rooms to lobbies and waiting areas, this comfortable piece of seating is at home in many settings. Nelson compared the chair's shape to a section of a coconut that had been cut into eight pieces. The Coconut Chair derives its name from this comparison, but while a real coconut is white on the inside, the chair is white on the outside.
